Neeleshwar Hermitage

Separated only by a lagoon from the sandy beach of the beautiful Malabar coast, the Neeleshwar Hermitage is located in the north of Kerela amidst an inviting palm-tree garden. After a 2.5 hour transfer from Mangalore Airport, you will find peace and relaxation in this wonderful retreat. Recharge your batteries during your stay at this spa resort with selected Ayurvedic treatments and leave the worries of everyday life behind.

The 18 cottages, spread out over the garden, are made of natural materials and combine the traditional Kerala style with modern decor quite effortlessly. Each cottage has enough privacy to make your feel undisturbed and has a private garden. The interior is designed by local artists and the brightness and airiness make the cottages cozy. On the property is also a spacious pool for swimming.

The Wellness Center “Priya” (Sanskrit for loved) is run by compassionate doctors who are committed to your well-being with your entire team and who take a lot of time to meet your individual wishes and requirements. After an initial consultation, an individual treatment plan is compiled. You can choose from a variety of different Ayurveda spa packages, but Neeleshwar Hermitage does not offer Panchakarma treatments. The locally used herbs and medicines derive from private and organic cultivation.

Yoga and meditation also play a big role in the Neeleshwar Hermitage. A specialty is that you are guided here by the recognized yoga teacher Shri Anil Kumar and the yoga hall directly on the beach offers a wonderful backdrop for you to find your inner center (again).

The restaurant of Ayurveda Resort called “Annapurna” offers traditional cuisine with a focus on vegetarian ayurvedic dishes, with breakfast, lunch and dinner overlooking the garden. As an alternative for dinner, the beachfront Meenakshi Restaurant serves freshly caught fish.

Sustainability is a top priority at Neelishwar Hermitage, which means that resources are reused, energy is primarily generated from solar cells, and plastic bottles are replaced by copper pitchers and glass bottles.

The beach in front of the Wellness Resort belongs to the breeding grounds of sea turtles whose protection is also supported by Neeleshwar.

The resort is proud of a variety of awards, and just in 2015 it won the popular World Luxury Award.

Meditations can be booked extra for 2, 3 or 5 days (about 90 minutes daily). This is a variable option, depending on your interest. Meditation is taught in private lessons for 2 to 5 days. All details can be arranged between you and the meditation teacher.
