The Keralites call that deep green labyrinth of canals, rivers and lagoons Kuttanad, which is home to a palm-fringed, idyllic Backwater resort. Here at Coconut Lagoon – CGH Earth you will find the soul of Kerala as it focuses and combines all facets of its surroundings.

From Cochin Airport the journey takes about 2 hrs to Kumarakom. Once there, you change your mode of transport, because the Coconut Lagoon is only accessible by water. Smoothly gliding a wooden boat will droop you at the lobby, where your hosts await you.

The main building, as well as guest houses are build of a bygone era Heritage.  For years the owners of the resort accumulated historic Kerala houses from surrounding villages and created amidst the gardens a unique setting. The restaurant, testimony Kerala architecture with open atriums and columns, invites you to Kerala specialties, seafood and international cuisine. From the hammock overlooking the lake, or from lounging by the swimming pool the South Indian impressions are enjoyed at leisure. In addition, a library, TV room and boutique are available.

Stay in one of 42 Tharawads (historic houses) – unique pieces equipped and furnished with instinct and heart. They offer a bathroom / WC, outdoor shower, some with air conditioning and telephone. Choose between the Heritage bungalows nearby the canal, two-storey Heritage Mansions with upstairs bedroom and views of the lake or pool villas with private pool and garden.

At the Ayurvedic Centre treat yourself to a massage or a herbal bath and relax with yoga or meditation. Whether you want to visit cultural performances, Kerala cooking classes, canoeing, fishing, houseboat tours, a visit to the villages, or an excursion to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, the friendly team of Coconut Lagoon is happy to assist you.

GETTING THERE

AIRPLANE

Cochin airport offers very good domestic and international flight connections. The airport is approximately 2 hrs drive from the resort.

Please note:

Check in 2 pm – Check out 12 am. The treatments are selected on your first day, after your first doctors consultation. We recommend you bring all available results to your first consultation. No Ayurvedic Treatments are possible during menstrual period.

Heritage Bungalow:
The stand-alone bungalows offer an open-air shower, toilet, hairdryer, mini bar, tea / coffee maker, safe, ceiling fan, air conditioning and a small covered terrace.

Heritage Mansion:
These rooms are housed in the larger, traditional houses over two floors. On the ground floor there is a small living room and upstairs a bedroom. Bathroom and furnishings are equipped as the bungalows.

Deluxe Pool Villa:
From the terrace of the pool villas on the shore of the lake you can enjoy a magnificent view. The villas also offer a small living room with a fridge and a private swimming pool.
