Bethsaida Hermitage

The Bethsaida Hermitage is set on a small hill in a beautiful bay amidst a lush garden area that offers plenty of retreats and relaxation opportunities. The Ayurveda Resort is only a short transfer from Trivandrum Airport (about 30 minutes) and you are welcomed by warm people upon arrival. The exotic nature, the golden sandy beach and the sea, which lies at the feet of the Bethsaida Hermitage, provide an ideal atmosphere for your Ayurveda treatment including yoga.

The sprawling complex is characterized by connecting elements: walk along looped paths and stairs as well as over bridges and enjoy the refreshing sight of ponds. Accommodation options at the Ayurveda resort vary between 15 traditional Kerala houses embedded in nature and a main building with approximately 60 terraced rooms with sea view. The individually designed rooms are characterized by traditional Kerala decor and are very spaciouse (35 square meters). In addition to the numerous shady spots under the palm trees, two swimming pools offer the opportunity to cool off. The nearby sandy beach is only a few meters away.

The spacious Ayurveda center is run by a chief physician and his professional therapist team. It offers 22 treatment rooms and blends harmoniously into the exotic environment. The Panchakarma cures here focus on the cleansing and rejuvenation, starting with a first consultation that helps to tailor the treatments to your individual needs. Then your treatment plan is prepared and you will receive various massages (head, forehead and face as well as whole body) as well as herbal steam baths. Also intestinal and nasal cleansing and eye rinses can be part of the Ayurveda cure. Your diet will also be coordinated with the Ayurveda doctor and at the end of the treatments there will be a final consultation. Yoga and meditation are also a daily part of your stay and are guided in a professional way. In addition to the Ayurveda center, the Bethsaida Hermitage offers an Ayurveda shop as well as a pharmacy and a meditation chapel to round off the holistic experience.

The restaurant offers panoramic views and tasty Kerala and Ayurvedic dishes in buffet style. In addition to variations with fresh vegetables and herbs, fish is also offered. If you can once turn your eyes away from the sea, you also have the opportunity to join the cook in a workshop and so receive valuable tips for home.

During your stay, you will find a lot of facilities: a reception with lounge area, a boutique, a cinema with DVD rental and a library – wifi is also available at the reception and in the rooms. Should you wish a change despite this offer, the staff is happy to assist you with the organization of excursions. Kerala hut (Non AC)
These traditional octagonal bungalows feature open-plan bath / shower / WC, ceiling fan, seating, mosquito net, patio overlooking the garden and a fresh-air coconut-leaf roof construction. Air conditioning, TV and refrigerator are deliberately omitted.

Sea View Room (Non AC / AC)
These spacious rooms are located in the 2 terraced main houses and are equipped with a shower / toilet, dressing table, fan, dressing room, seating, mosquito net and terrace with stunning sea views.

Some of them are additionally equipped with air conditioning, TV and fridge (extra charge).

Kerala Cottage (Non AC / AC)
These circular freestanding cottages are set on a small hill nestled in palm trees and near the water, allowing for a unique connection with nature. They are equipped with bath / shower / toilet, dressing table, fan, seating and terrace. Enjoy your privacy eventually with wonderful sea views.

Some of them are additionally equipped with air conditioning, TV and fridge (extra charge).

Kerala House (AC)
These houses combine traditional and modern features and are mostly semi-detached houses. They offer the same decor as the Kerala cottages, but are slightly larger and all have air conditioning, TV and fridge. The view from the raised porch goes into the paradise garden.

Kottaram House (AC)
There are two houses of this category offering a total of 4 rooms with bath / bathtub / shower / WC, dressing table, fan, dressing table, seating, mosquito net as well as air conditioning, TV and refrigerator. The peculiarity of this accommodation is the veranda, which runs around it and thus offers unique views. The natural ventilation system in the two-storey roof ensures a pleasant indoor climate.

Wooden Kerala House (AC)
These houses, mostly semi-detached, give you a very authentic living experience and stand out due to their traditional wooden construction. In addition to the basic equipment, they feature partly open bathrooms / shower / WC, air conditioning, TV and terrace with breathtaking views of the ocean.
