Barberyn Waves Ayurveda Resort

In summer of 2020 the fourth and newest of the renowned Barberyn resorts was openend in Weligama, Sri Lanka due to high popularity: Barberyn Waves Ayurveda Resort. After an approx. 3.5 hours drive from the airport you will reach the tropical property with a wonderful view of the Indian Ocean. Next to the sister resort on the left – the Barberyn Beach Ayurveda Resort – you can now also check into the Barberyn Waves Ayurveda Resort on the right!

The modern and at the same time traditionally designed buildings of the Barberyn Waves meander through surrounding trees with Ayurvedic medicinal properties and also feature ponds and water gardens. Of course, the architecture is kept similiar to the one of the sister resort. The sunlight, the proximity of the sea and the vastness of the sky let you breathe a sigh of relief and form the ideal place for your relaxing Ayurveda cure including yoga. The spacious grounds also offer a swimming pool from which you can enjoy a view of the Indian Ocean.

65 spacious rooms – furnished and decorated with loving carpentry work – offer 63 to 81 square meters of space to withdraw and relax. Thanks to the open room design, natural ventilation and neutral colors, the living space is particularly harmonious with nature. Air-conditioned rooms are available on request, but are not recommended for Ayurveda cures. Internet is not available in the rooms to encourage a digital detox. However, there is WiFi in the public areas.

Barberyn Waves Ayurveda Resort shares the Ayurveda center located high up in the complex with Barberyn Beach. In the established tradition, a thorough initial consultation is carried out and then the Ayurveda cure is tailored to your individual needs. In addition to various Ayurveda treatments, steam baths, herbal applications and baths, this also includes acupuncture and the administration of herbal mixtures. The meals are also individually tailored to you.

The restaurant is on the top floor and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape and the sea. The yoga and meditation pavilion is also located on the top floor with a view of a white Buddha statue as well as the sea and offers a particularly quiet place for inner contemplation.

Ramps between the individual buildings of the Barberyn Waves Ayurveda Resort also allow wheelchair users comfortable access.

These rooms are located close to nature and offer a wonderful view of the Barberyn medicinal garden from their own balcony or terrace.
Classic room
You can enjoy partial sea views from these rooms.
Deluxe room
Due to their higher location, these rooms offer a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean. They are particularly large and bright as well as very pleasantly ventilated. Enjoy the view on your spacious balcony.
Premier room
These rooms are the largest and most comfortable in the Barberyn Waves Ayurveda Resort and have a great view of the sea, the swimming pool and the garden. The high walls and large balconies create a special feel-good atmosphere.
