AMUNA Ayurvedic Retreat

The picturesque AMUNA Ayurvedic Retreat is located in Kumbukkandanwala near Dambulla, just 2 km from the beautiful Amaya Lake in the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. It embodies the concept of a holistic and authentic Sri Lankan herbal experience to guarantee a relaxed and memorable stay.

The Ayurveda Resort is well-equipped and all cures are performed by experienced therapists and supervised by professional Ayurveda doctors. Many different treatments and programs are offered, which are completed by yoga and meditation as well as a strict organic diet. The cure process is ideally complemented by resting and relaxing in this wonderful refuge.

The lush scenery around the Ayurveda Resort has been preserved during the construction of the facility and staying in this environment alone has already a therapeutic effect. The spacious area has guest rooms, a restaurant, a lobby, a consultation room, treatment and treatment rooms in the middle of a green oasis and bordering the impressive Kandalama lake on the horizon.

The natural greenery and ecological aspects have been preserved in a pure state. All of the buildings are built of environmentally friendly materials that contain 8 traditional guest rooms which combine modern design that blends elegantly with the traditional exterior of the AMUNA Ayurvedic Retreat. All rooms have a beautiful view of the rice fields and mountains in the distance. The Ayurveda Resort also has a villa and 3 tree houses.

The restaurant of the Ayurveda Resort is also kept in the traditional Sri Lankan style and is equipped with an open courtyard. Be inspired by the antique wooden columns and shelves, which not only surround the restaurant, but also the lobby and the consultation rooms.

Sun-drenched and fresh Ayurvedic herbs can be found throughout the complex. Immerse yourself in the ambience with all your senses – incense sticks and oil lamps adorn the statues of Buddha and the god Sri Dhanvantari, the patron of meditation and Ayurveda. The aroma of the herbs will refresh your whole body and has a positive effect on the organs, the blood circulation as well as the breathing. It activates the mind and helps to reduce stress.

There are various treatment rooms available as a spa. The medicine and oils are produced by the highest quality standards on the spot by villagers using fresh ingredients from their own garden. Enjoy an authentic Ayurvedic cure in this natural setting.

Before the AMUNA Ayurvedic Retreats, you will find a picturesque pond which is created by a diversion of the current flowing into the resort. The water is naturally purified and enriched with herbs, stones, sand, flowers and charcoal.
